
Senior Account Executive – Education Practice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Work closely with account leads and clients to ensure successful collaborations.
• Track and present media opportunities across various levels and sectors pertinent to education clients.
• Analyze client challenges and produce landscape and policy assessments, media insights, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Compose press releases, advisories, contributed articles, briefing documents, and other written communications.
• Deliver monthly reports to clients detailing activities, key performance indicators (KPIs), and project scopes.
• Keep project trackers updated, organize agendas and action items, and oversee budgets and scopes of work.
• Offer general account support, which includes participating in internal and client calls and fulfilling other assigned duties.
• Assist in the development of new business proposals.
• Support client accounts by taking on increased responsibilities in project management and client interaction.
• Generate media reports and analyses.
• Create and pitch story ideas to secure coverage in local, trade, national, broadcast, podcast, and print/digital media.
• Manage or supervise the creation of social media content, community engagement, and campaign management.
• 3–5 years of experience in an agency, nonprofit, public policy, or education-related sector.
• Experience in supporting strategic communications, media relations, social media, marketing, or advocacy initiatives.
• Candidates must be located within the U.S. Eastern or Central time zones.
• Direct experience and interest in education communications are preferred.
• A strong interest and foundational understanding of the U.S. education system and global education issues and trends.
• Excellent writing and editing capabilities across multiple platforms, voices, and tones.
• Proficient in AP style and social media writing.
• High level of accountability, able to meet deadlines, and detail-oriented.
• Capable of managing projects and tasks independently, particularly in remote settings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
• Knowledge of ethical AI tool usage, including Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, and NotebookLLM.
• Extensive knowledge of social media platforms such as LinkedIn, X or Blue Sky, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Substack.
• Strong interest in public relations, journalism, public affairs, communications, or marketing.
• Prior experience with tools like Slack, Zoom, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Canva, and others is a plus.
