This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Oversee the creation and execution of pioneering learning and teaching strategies that align with Milpark’s vision for educational excellence and student learning experiences.
• Partner with faculty from Milpark schools, instructional designers, and other educational specialists to guide the design and development of academic programs and qualifications that integrate innovative teaching methods and meet the changing needs of students.
• Facilitate meaningful discussions with faculty and school leadership, utilizing business acumen and commerce-related qualifications to drive changes in delivery that reflect Milpark's educational philosophy.
• Conceptualize and spearhead experiential learning opportunities, such as research projects, community engagement, and collaborative efforts with industry partners.
• Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of innovative learning initiatives and ensure ongoing enhancement of academic offerings.
• Analyze data to support continuous improvement and verify that innovations are aligned with learning objectives and graduate attributes.
• Collaborate with faculty through workshops to boost their ability to implement innovative learning strategies that resonate with Milpark’s values, mission, teaching philosophy, and graduate attributes.
• Foster strong relationships with schools, academic operations teams, and essential business stakeholders.
• Assist Milpark Schools in conducting thorough reviews of program offerings and provide guidance on curriculum design and development by supporting a team of instructional designers to enact relevant changes, catering to students' evolving needs, and aligning with Milpark’s vision and mission.
• Promote faculty participation in research activities that will enrich teaching, learning, and the overall student experience at Milpark.
• Manage and mentor a team of instructional designers, focusing on establishing Milpark best practices within a specific portfolio.
• Create, evaluate, and update resources and documentation that inform our approach to delivering education in accordance with Milpark’s overarching philosophy on learning journeys.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on the work of all instructional designers within the unit.
• Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and pedagogical strategies to enhance the learning experience.
• Collaborate with the Chief Commercial Officer to suggest solutions to corporate partners.
• A Master's or Doctorate in a Commerce-related discipline, accompanied by several years of hands-on experience in a corporate setting within a commerce-related field, as well as extensive experience in higher education developing and delivering coursework in a commerce-related area.
• A Master's or Doctorate in Education, paired with considerable practical experience in a corporate environment related to commerce, alongside significant experience in a higher education institution in developing and delivering courses in a commerce-related field.
• Proven track record in developing and/or executing innovative learning and teaching strategies.
• Profound understanding of business principles and commerce-related qualifications to effectively collaborate with faculty and school leadership.
• Capability to lead significant discussions with faculty and facilitate modifications in delivery methods that align with the institution's educational philosophy.
• Established leadership and management abilities to guide a team, mentor them, and set best practices.
• Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with faculty through workshops and enhance their capabilities for innovative learning approaches.
• Proficient in communicating with business stakeholders and corporate partners.
• Skilled at articulating Milpark’s values, mission, and teaching philosophy effectively.
• Active involvement in research initiatives and a commitment to fostering a research culture in learning and teaching.
• Academic research output will be a plus.
• Ability to foster collaborative initiatives with industry partners.
• Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups, and appointments will be made in accordance with our Employment Equity requirements.
