Security Technical Account Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Act as a liaison between Red Hat Product Security and its partners on behalf of clients.

• Serve as an intermediary between customer operations and security teams, offering guidance on both general security practices and specific industry standards.

• Provide analytical assistance for routine security monitoring and address any findings related to Red Hat software.

• Offer analytical support for security implications arising from planned changes to Red Hat software on critical and sensitive systems, along with timely diagnostics and remediation advice for ongoing security issues impacting any Red Hat software.

• Mentor security and operations personnel on security features and best practices related to Red Hat software.

• Facilitate customer engagement with the Project Lightwell clearinghouse to coordinate activities such as scanning, triage, patching, and backporting.

• Collaborate with Red Hat Consulting to provide direction on expediting the software development lifecycle and large-scale OS patching to ensure a reliable software supply chain.

• Cultivate and enhance customer relationships by offering attentive, relationship-focused support.

• Establish trust with customers and act as their representative within Red Hat.

• Conduct technical reviews and disseminate knowledge to identify and mitigate potential issues.

• Acquire a deep understanding of customers’ technical infrastructures, environments, hardware, and offerings.

• Develop customer engagement strategies and maintain up-to-date documentation on customer environments.

• Assist enterprise customers in the implementation of automated and containerized cloud application platform solutions.

• Conduct initial or follow-up investigations and handle online and phone support inquiries.

• Collaborate closely with Red Hat's engineering, product management, and technical support teams to troubleshoot, test, and resolve issues.

• Regularly contribute to the Red Hat knowledge base and share best practices with colleagues.

• Participate in internal projects and initiatives, serving as a subject-matter expert and mentor in specific technical or process areas.

• Provide essential portfolio updates and assist customers in successfully executing upgrades.

• Manage customer use cases and ensure clear and concise documentation of cases.

• Work with Red Hat's solutions engineering teams to create solution patterns based on customer interactions and personal experience to guide platform adoption.

• Engage with Red Hat's field teams, customers, and partners to ensure a positive experience with cloud technology and successful outcomes that lead to long-term enterprise success.

• Tackle challenging problems innovatively. Act as a Subject Matter Expert on Security and the Red Hat portfolio.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related technical field.

• Red Hat Certified: RHCE (RHCA preferred).

• Preferred Security Certification (CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security +, (ISC)² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), Certified Ethical Hacker).

• Proven experience in a strategic advisory role for senior IT and business executives.

• Practical knowledge and experience in agile, scrum, and DevOps environments.

• Over 10 years of experience in a security role, customer support, development, engineering, or quality assurance (QA) organization.

• Capability to manage and nurture existing enterprise customer relationships through proactive, relationship-focused support.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely present complex information to customers.

• Solid understanding of enterprise architecture and strategic business drivers.

• Ability to juggle multiple issues and projects with a keen eye for detail.

• Experience or knowledge in application development and release engineering.

• Strong comprehension of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) principles.

• Familiarity with or working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible.

• Quick aptitude for learning new technologies, including topics such as container orchestration, container registries, container build strategies, and microservices on container platforms.

• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.

• Capability to travel internationally.
