This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Oversee device management through MDM policies, BYOD, patch and vulnerability oversight, troubleshooting, and general operating system administration across macOS, Linux, and Windows.
• Provide support for essential platforms including Google Workspace, Jira, and GitHub.
• Streamline processes such as self-service access and patching through automation.
• Manage access controls utilizing OIDC, SAML, and SCIM protocols.
• Implement data loss prevention strategies and mitigation techniques.
• Collaborate on technology-stack decisions with Engineering Leadership to ensure alignment with company-wide IT standards.
• Contribute to the growth of Tailscale’s security team and enhance the safety of the product.
• Work collaboratively with highly technical teams in an asynchronous environment.
• Previous experience in a security-related or similar technical position, including identity and access management, endpoint security, data loss prevention, security operations center roles, or IT engineering/operations.
• Understanding of operating systems and their security mechanisms.
• Familiarity with common networking protocols.
• Knowledge of standard authentication and user management protocols, such as OIDC, SAML, and SCIM.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace Security and Device Management.
• Experience with MDM solutions like Jamf, Kandji, Fleet, or Intune.
• Capable of giving and receiving constructive feedback.
• Able to work both independently and in a team setting.
• Adaptability to the fast-paced environment of a startup.
• Experience with Jira workflows and automation is a plus.
• Application and/or infrastructure security experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or bash scripting is preferred.
