This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee security alerts, detections, and incidents across both internal and client environments.
• Conduct triage, investigation, and initial response procedures for security incidents.
• Analyze logs and security events utilizing SIEM and monitoring tools.
• Record incidents and generate reports for both internal and client use.
• Elevate incidents to senior analysts when necessary.
• Assist with client service deployments and configuration adjustments.
• Engage in threat research and basic threat hunting activities.
• Contribute to detection tuning and the review of false positives.
• Adhere to established procedures and runbooks to maintain consistent responses.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding security services and configurations.
• Take part in maintenance windows and initiatives aimed at enhancing security.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and management on cybersecurity operations and enhancements.
• Basic knowledge in cybersecurity or information security.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, or relevant experience is preferred, though applicable work experience and/or certifications will be considered.
• Previous experience in SOC or security monitoring.
• Familiarity with investigating events and incidents within a SIEM.
• Knowledge of SIEM technology or comparable security tools.
• Experience with logs, monitoring tools, and security workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to communicate technical findings in clear, detailed terms.
• Experience in both Linux and Windows environments.
• Understanding of vulnerability management and log monitoring principles.
• Security certifications like Security+, GSEC, or CySA+ are preferred.
• Experience with scripting or coding is advantageous.
