Senior IT Security Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver daily operational assistance, configuration, policy optimization, and platform health oversight for ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, AI Security, and Cloud Security.

• Set up and manage zero trust policies that encompass user-to-application access, posture assessment, SSL/TLS inspection, content filtering, and access control.

• Implement and refine CSPM and DSPM policies while working with environment owners on remediation efforts.

• Utilize ZDX to track application and user experience challenges, linking observations with network and security telemetry to determine root causes.

• Assist with DLP policy optimization, alert triage, SOP documentation, and on-call incident management.

• Aid in the automation of repetitive security processes.

• Collaborate with environment owners, support teams, and product groups to enhance security outcomes.

• Report to the Director - Zscaler within the Corporate Infrastructure department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven curiosity and proactive exploration of AI tools, with a successful track record of incorporating new technologies to improve daily workflows and enhance problem-solving abilities.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to specific customer security requirements.

• Over 5 years of experience in IT security operations, network security, or a related technical field.

• Practical experience in administering Zscaler ZIA and/or ZPA security platforms.

• Familiarity with zero trust principles, including identity verification, role-based access control, network segmentation, and posture evaluation.

• Solid understanding of cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), operating systems fundamentals (Windows, macOS, Linux), networking concepts, and authentication protocols.

• Preferred: Hands-on experience with configuring SSL/TLS inspection, DLP, SIEM integration, log streaming (NSS), and EDR platforms like CrowdStrike Falcon.

• Preferred: Strong network troubleshooting expertise using tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, ping, and traceroute/MTR, along with familiarity in DevSecOps workflows.

• Preferred: Current technical certifications such as Zscaler ZCCA/ZCCP, CrowdStrike CCFA/CCFR, Security+, or CISSP.
