This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and assess security alerts and incidents.
• Execute thorough investigations and react to intricate security threats.
• Direct security incident management, coordinating containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
• Carry out forensic analysis of compromised systems to determine root causes, attack vectors, and indicators of compromise.
• Assist in identifying, assessing, and remediating vulnerabilities.
• Maintain and enhance SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection systems.
• Mentor and train Level 1 SOC Engineers.
• Develop and maintain documentation regarding incidents, forensic analyses, and response actions.
• Produce and assess security reports with suggestions to enhance security posture.
• Monitor cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices while refining SOC processes and technologies.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for urgent after-hours security incidents.
• Demonstrated proficiency in security monitoring tools, including SIEM and IDS/IPS, along with their configuration and management.
• Strong knowledge of network security, endpoint security, and incident response strategies.
• Experience with forensic tools and techniques for investigating compromised systems.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation technologies, such as Python and PowerShell.
• Awareness of cloud security practices and tools, including AWS and Azure, is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity position.
• At least 1–2 years in a Level 2 role or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA CySA+ are preferred.
• Experience in managing security for multiple client environments or an MSP background is preferred.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management and patch orchestration tools is preferred.
• Ability to work from 7am to 4pm EST, Monday through Friday.
