Security Incident Response Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct analysis and investigation of a wide array of threats or activities occurring on client devices.

• Formulate requirements for detection models and enhancements to current systems.

• Gather, transform, and ingest raw data from various sources into threat detection pipelines.

• Optimize incident response capabilities, ensuring that tools and processes are well-defined.

• Collaborate across teams with security engineering and data science to create solutions for analyzing security event data at scale, safeguarding Stripe's networks, systems, and data from threats.

• Deliver actionable insights to assist in identifying, preventing, detecting, and responding to unusual or potentially malicious user and entity activity.

• Serve as the subject-matter expert and main point of contact for stakeholder teams engaged in Security Analytics and Detection programs, as well as broader security initiatives at Stripe.

• Work effectively with team members, leading projects, mentoring colleagues, and promoting quality standards within the group.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience analyzing large datasets to address problems and/or constructing models with a behavioral focus on security.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL, along with familiarity with additional programming languages.

• Prior experience with log analysis (e.g., first or third-party applications, system/data access, event logs), network security, digital forensics, and incident response investigations.

• Expertise in developing and applying innovative analytical methods to build, automate, and enhance detection and response systems.

• Capability to clearly communicate results and emphasize impact.

• Ability to think creatively and comprehensively about mitigating risk in a complex environment.
