Security Implementation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver exceptional customer service to Logically's clientele.

• Oversee open tickets and projects, completing technical and operational tasks for project outcomes.

• Manage timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables for assigned implementation projects.

• Implement and configure security infrastructure based on business and technology specifications.

• Conduct firewall builds, upgrades, and intricate configurations across SonicWall, Fortinet, and other platforms.

• Deploy and set up SASE/SSE solutions, including FortiSASE and SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge.

• Implement email security solutions, encompassing Proofpoint configuration, policy deployment, and mail-infrastructure integration.

• Deploy and configure security awareness training platforms, such as KnowBe4 campaigns, phishing simulations, and reporting dashboards.

• Set up and configure endpoint security solutions, including SentinelOne, Huntress, and other NGAV platforms.

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based log collectors and syslog infrastructure for SIEM integration.

• Implement wireless solutions that include access points, controllers, and captive portals.

• Configure site-to-site, client-based, and remote-access VPN solutions.

• Implement switching solutions including VLANs, spanning tree, link aggregation, and access control.

• Configure security policies including NAT, access rules, content filtering, and security services.

• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to schedule implementation activities and manage timelines.

• Conduct project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.

• Perform complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for advanced or escalated issues.

• Validate deployments through systematic testing and quality assurance.

• Create and maintain deployment documentation, as-built diagrams, configuration standards, and troubleshooting guides.

• Work alongside engineering teams to refine procedures and identify areas for improvement.

• Provide escalated support for intricate technical issues.

• Mentor Security Implementation Technicians.

• Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent customer needs.

• Ensure compliance with company, contractual, and regulatory standards.

• Apply risk management principles to evaluate configurations and propose enhancements.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 3-5 years of experience in network and security implementation or engineering roles.

• At least one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, Fortinet NSE4 or higher, SonicWall Network Security Administrator (SNSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Network+, SSCP, Pentest+.

• Proven experience in deploying and configuring enterprise firewall platforms.

• Preferred experience with SASE/SSE platforms and cloud-delivered security services.

• Familiarity with email security platforms (Proofpoint, Mimecast, or similar) is preferred.

• Experience with security awareness training platforms (KnowBe4 or similar) is preferred.

• Strong understanding of firewall policies, security standards, and ruleset management.

• Knowledge of network protocols including STP, LAG, LACP, ACL, LLDP, 802.1X, and NAC.

• Understanding of L2/L3 switching and routing technologies.

• Experience with Linux command line and basic system administration.

• Familiarity with endpoint security platforms and deployment methodologies.

• Preferred experience with SIEM platforms and log collection infrastructure.

• Knowledge of wireless technologies and deployment best practices is preferred.

• Proven project coordination skills with the ability to manage timelines and deliverables.

• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical specifications.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot intricate technical issues systematically.

• Excellent documentation skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and various levels of management, both verbally and in writing.
