This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Deliver engaging technical presentations and live demonstrations of Tenable Enterprise products.
• Manage trials of enterprise software and Proof of Concept evaluations, aligning unique business values with customer objectives.
• Address technical inquiries and offer consultative advice on security best practices, compliance frameworks, and risk management.
• Utilize advanced technical skills to illustrate the value and effectiveness of Tenable’s solutions in addressing real-world customer issues.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients while identifying and fostering new strategic opportunities.
• Present thought leadership content and represent Tenable at industry events, executive briefings, and customer meetings.
• Use strategic technical selling abilities to engage key stakeholders, from engineers to CISOs, and influence decision-making processes.
• Travel as required (typically around 25%) to support key customer engagements, critical sales opportunities, and significant cybersecurity events.
• Collaborate across functions with product management and engineering to capture customer feedback and prioritize essential customer use cases.
• Contribute to future innovations by identifying gaps and proposing ideas for new product features and enhancements.
• Provide clear status updates for Proofs of Value (POVs) and active opportunities; this data is crucial for forecasting business health and ensuring alignment with territory and organizational growth objectives.
• Meet with potential clients to understand their primary security challenges and top business priorities.
• 3–5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical sales position, with a proven history as a trusted and successful sales engineer.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and secure technical proof-of-value (PoV) engagements with strategic enterprise clients.
• A customer-focused mentality, with an unwavering commitment to delivering business value and fostering long-term relationships.
• Established thought leadership in cybersecurity, including experience in public speaking and industry involvement.
• Strong communication abilities with the skill to customize and deliver powerful presentations to varied audiences, including engineers, security professionals, and executive stakeholders.
• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset, dedicated to knowledge-sharing and cross-functional success, while embodying our One Tenable team culture.
• Exceptional situational and self-awareness, with the high emotional intelligence (EQ) necessary to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, adapt communication styles in real-time, and maintain a professional demeanor during high-pressure technical demonstrations.
• Over 5 years of Sales Engineering experience with a focus on vulnerability management, cloud security, or complex enterprise SaaS (Ideally).
• Core knowledge of Network Security & TCP/IP Foundations, including an understanding of the OSI model, packet analysis, and other advanced network security concepts (Ideally).
• Expertise in Vulnerability Management, with hands-on experience using Nessus and other industry-standard network security scanning tools to identify, validate, and prioritize vulnerabilities across hybrid environments (Ideally).
• Experience securing modern Cloud Infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud (Ideally).
• Basic understanding of Container Security, particularly in securing Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) environments (Ideally).
• Knowledge of AI Security, including the ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with LLMs in businesses (Ideally).
• Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), including its critical role as the modern security perimeter and managing user and service permissions across cloud environments (Ideally).
• Automation & DevSecOps mindset, with the capability to leverage Python SDKs, REST/GraphQL APIs, Terraform, and more (Ideally).
• Knowledge of strategic compliance, mapping technical findings to frameworks like CIS, FISMA, PCI, and emerging AI-specific regulations (e.g., NIST AI RMF) (Ideally).
• Strong academic and professional qualifications, including a BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) and certifications such as CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect, or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) (Ideally).
