Secondary Social Studies Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Certified teachers will work full-time from home, managing instructional programs.

• Assist in the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous teaching.

• Ensure timely completion of grading, progress reports, and parent conferences.

• Maintain regular communication with parents, students, and colleagues to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, provide feedback on student assignments, suggest instructional strategies, monitor assignment completion, and coach on special projects.

• Acquire a general understanding of the entire K-12 curriculum and an in-depth knowledge of the specific grades for which you are responsible.

• Offer alternative strategies and additional support for students and parents with daily assignments and projects.

• Keep student records and data current, including online student and family information, attendance records, and logs of all student and parent interactions.

• Collaborate with team members and learning specialists to create alternative enrichment activities and modifications to enhance student comprehension.

• Create and implement virtual approaches to foster a sense of “school community.”

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be certified to teach Secondary Social Studies in South Carolina, suitable for grade level responsibilities.

• Residency in South Carolina is required.

• Gifted and Talented Endorsement is highly recommended.

• Strong technological proficiency, particularly with MS Office and Google Suite.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Highly organized and punctual.

• Customer-focused mindset.

• Significant flexibility is essential.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Track record as a team player.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for school and state testing events, which may involve overnight stays.

• Capability to work remotely when necessary.

• Availability to work occasional evening hours to support certain families.

• Must be able to utilize a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step verification.
