SDN Network Engineer, OVS/OVN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and manage the software-defined networking layer for cloud infrastructure.

• Contribute to open-source initiatives such as Open vSwitch, OVN, OpenStack Neutron, and the Linux Kernel.

• Create and develop networking APIs and products for cloud network platforms.

• Implement observability features including metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging for network services.

• Automate network operations and streamline operational workflows.

• Lead root cause analysis for network incidents and execute necessary fixes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Open vSwitch (OVS) and OVN in a production environment.

• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPC, NAT, VPN, BGP, VXLAN, load balancing, and DNS.

• In-depth knowledge of the Linux networking stack, particularly namespaces, iptables, tc, and kernel subsystems.

• Experience in integrating SDN solutions with OpenStack Neutron.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Go, Python, or Bash.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes networking and CNI plugins (e.g. Calico).

• Experience with DPDK is advantageous.

• Strong command of the English language.

• Preferred: Experience in utilizing AI tools in daily workflows.
