This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Evaluate and enhance testing tools and frameworks to align with platform modifications.
• Collaborate with the team to sustain and improve automation infrastructure while leading the design of new frameworks as necessary.
• Develop new frameworks or prototypes for microservices and third-party integrations.
• Engage in cross-team automation initiatives and share reusable components.
• Conduct regular audits of automation test suites for accuracy, coverage, and business relevance.
• Host technical meetings with testers to synchronize priorities and exchange updates.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges to ensure smooth workflow.
• Offer expert advice on testing tools and processes.
• Promptly address issues related to build and development pipelines.
• Collaborate with Tech Ops to secure essential resources.
• Facilitate deployments and release processes across various environments.
• Perform both automated and manual testing to remain familiar with product workflows and platform behavior.
• Continuously update your knowledge of product workflows to ensure testing strategies align with real user journeys and key business paths.
• Assist the team by coding during critical delivery phases as required.
• Utilize metrics such as execution rates, coverage, and pass/fail trends to assess testing quality.
• Analyze production defects to evaluate deliverable quality and identify process gaps.
• Advocate for prevention and early detection strategies to reduce defect escapes and enhance shift-left practices.
• Supervise peer reviews of test scripts to ensure efficient workflow and timely feedback.
• Ensure consistent application of quality practices, including code reviews, branching, naming conventions, and documentation standards.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to foster team skill development, particularly in automation and AI.
• Support technical and professional growth through coaching and career development within quality engineering.
• Over 5 years of experience in software quality engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in a technical lead or senior automation engineering role.
• Proficient in at least one modern automation framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, RestAssured, Karate, etc.).
• Experienced with CI/CD pipelines and development tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and API testing (REST, GraphQL, event-driven).
• Background in mentoring, coaching, or leading test engineering teams.
• Skilled in defining and implementing test strategies within agile teams.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
