Scriptwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Create 5–6 high-quality scripts for SolarBalls each month, typically crafting long-form episodes around 8 minutes in length, from story inception to final delivery.

• Develop engaging stories and dialogue that balance elements of comedy, drama, science, and character evolution, while staying true to the established tone and universe.

• Ensure continuity across characters, relationships, lore, and ongoing narratives.

• Proactively identify and address any narrative or pacing challenges.

• Conduct thorough research on scientific and historical concepts, seamlessly weaving them into captivating stories.

• Collaborate closely with the Script Editor and Researcher to enhance scripts, incorporate feedback, and confirm they are ready for production.

• Work directly with Alvaro Calmet to realize the broader creative vision and integrate final creative direction.

• Adhere to production timelines while maintaining a consistent level of writing quality.

• When necessary, write shorter scripts, such as YouTube Shorts and brand partnership integrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated professional writing experience with a track record of consistently delivering high-quality narrative content.

• Proven experience as a scriptwriter, screenwriter, television writer, animation writer, game writer, or a related narrative professional.

• A robust portfolio showcasing storytelling, dialogue, character development, and narrative structure.

• Experience working within an established series, intellectual property, or fictional universe, preferably in a professional entertainment production setting.

• In-depth understanding of story structure, pacing, character arcs, humor, drama, and narrative consistency.

• Exceptional written English and the ability to craft natural dialogue.

• Strong research abilities, genuine curiosity, and outstanding attention to detail.

• Capability to engage with scientific and educational topics effectively.

• Discipline to produce high-quality work within deadlines and to enhance scripts through revisions.

• Ability to work autonomously, identify challenges, make sound creative choices, and collaborate within a defined creative vision.

• Authentic familiarity with and passion for SolarBalls’ characters, relationships, lore, narrative arcs, and storytelling style.

• Formal training or professional experience in screenwriting, film, animation, television, games, or a related domain is a significant advantage.

• Experience collaborating with directors, producers, or creative leads is a considerable asset.
