
Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Oligo Biology β In Vitro

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Develop experiments in molecular and cellular biology through close collaboration with internal bioinformatics and chemistry teams to facilitate effective in vitro and in vivo screening initiatives.
β’ Oversee external CROs, encompassing experimental design, prioritization, technical supervision, data analysis, timeline management, and proactive problem-solving to guarantee high-quality and timely project delivery.
β’ Create and refine siRNAs, ASOs, PMOs, and other innovative nucleotide modalities to improve therapeutic effectiveness.
β’ Produce and analyze structure-activity relationships (SAR) to inform lead optimization and candidate selection.
β’ Keep comprehensive technical documentation using Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs) and clearly convey experimental strategies, outcomes, and recommendations to diverse scientific audiences.
β’ Proactively assess emerging technologies and scientific literature to discover novel methods that improve oligonucleotide potency, extrahepatic delivery, durability, and safety.
β’ Ph.D. in biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field with 0-6 years of pertinent industry experience, OR M.S. with 2-8 years of industry experience in oligonucleotide therapeutic development.
β’ In-depth knowledge of siRNA and ASO design principles, cellular mechanisms of action, and chemical modification techniques.
β’ Familiarity with advanced oligonucleotide delivery technologies, including GalNAc conjugates, lipid conjugates, peptide/antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates (AOCs), or other targeted delivery strategies.
β’ Practical experience with mammalian cell culture and various transfection techniques.
