This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Serve as the lead Scientific Affairs Manager for the designated territory in Germany.
• Act as a member of the International Medical Affairs team, responsible for developing and implementing a Local Medical Affairs plan that is strategically aligned.
• Function as the primary liaison for all German external experts, ensuring consistent and effective communication and outreach to all external stakeholders.
• Establish trust with external experts by engaging in timely, appropriate, and frequent scientific discussions to enhance the comprehension of the scientific and medical significance of Rhythm’s research.
• Analyze patient journeys, diagnosis, and therapeutic patterns, while fostering and developing peer-to-peer relationships with pertinent external experts.
• Initiate local genetic testing initiatives in partnership with healthcare professionals and obesity treatment networks to assist experts in identifying individuals with rare genetic forms of obesity.
• Collaborate closely with Global Clinical Development and Operations on interactions with investigators involved in Rhythm’s clinical trials, including investigator meetings and advisory boards.
• Aid in the execution of clinical trials by addressing the needs of investigators.
• Formulate and implement an innovative scientific communication plan for setmelanotide, and contribute to the medical/scientific evaluation of manuscripts.
• Ensure cross-functional collaboration across all levels with Marketing, Regulatory, Drug Safety, Market Access, and Research & Development.
• Enhance the scientific communication plan by identifying gaps in healthcare professional knowledge and facilitating non-promotional medical/scientific presentations.
• An advanced degree in a pharmaceutical, scientific, or medical discipline (PharmD, PhD, MD).
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison or a comparable customer-facing role.
• Relevant experience in pharmaceuticals and clinical/therapeutic settings will also be considered.
• Exhibits exceptional communication abilities and scientific expertise when presenting clinical and disease state information to diverse audiences, fluent in the local language for Germany.
• Proficient in both verbal and written English.
• Possesses knowledge of regional/local healthcare systems, the evolving medical landscape, reimbursement practices, and industry trends.
