Science Adjunct Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and implement instructional plans that enhance online student learning and engagement.

• Adjust instructional methods and strategies as necessary to accommodate the diverse needs of students.

• Utilize effective teaching and learning techniques to convey subject matter to students.

• Ensure adherence to accreditation standards concerning instruction quality, scheduled class hours, and CIAT policies and procedures.

• Foster collaboration with fellow staff members and engage in the rollout of new projects and initiatives.

• Keep the Student Database fully updated and precise at all times regarding student grade records.

• Comply with CIAT’s requirements to meet all Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant credential, license, or certification.

• Information Technology Instructors must submit official transcripts for a bachelor's (or higher) degree along with active/current certification in the subject area taught.

• General Education Instructors need to provide official transcripts for bachelor's and master's (or higher) degrees with at least 18 units in the subject area being taught.

• Minimum of three years’ experience in the relevant field OR two years of teaching experience.

• Experience with synchronous online teaching is preferred.

• Advanced expertise in the subject matter is preferred.

• Strong presentation skills.

• High degree of flexibility, creativity, and reliability.

• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as learning technologies like Canvas.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Capacity to multitask effectively.

• Quick and effective problem-solving skills, executed in a timely manner.

• Works with urgency while actively engaging and listening to colleagues from other departments.

• Ability to collaborate with peers, academic departments, and administration to enhance student success, attain institutional goals, and foster a positive and inclusive culture.

• Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that values the diversity of students' backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

• Awareness of current trends, best practices, and instructional methods in higher education.

• Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the varied needs of students.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information and interact with students, colleagues, and others.

• Maintain high ethical standards and serve as a model of professionalism for others.

• Compliance with all college policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to academic integrity, student conduct, and instructional delivery.
