This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.

📋 Description

• Foster student achievement through a thorough school counseling program.

• Support students in their academic success, social and emotional growth, as well as career and college planning.

• Assist students in exploring postsecondary options and implementing academic success strategies.

• Conduct quarterly meetings with students on the caseload to evaluate graduation plans and postsecondary opportunities.

• Provide classroom instruction aligned with student success standards.

• Examine transcripts and academic records.

• Collaborate with educators to create comprehensive four-year graduation plans.

• Review student schedules to ensure graduation eligibility.

• Aid in course placements, including recommendations for Advanced Placement classes.

• Analyze student data to formulate data-driven intervention strategies.

• Offer short-term counseling and referrals for long-term assistance.

• Provide support to teachers, staff, and parents.

• Facilitate standardized testing, parent education, and professional development for staff.

• Advocate for students during IEP and other student-centered meetings.

• Encourage students and families to focus on goal setting and academic planning.

• Travel up to 20% for professional development, student assessments, or school-related obligations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Valid state Department of Education School Counselor Certification is required.

• Must be a resident of one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.

• Bachelor's degree is required.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement is necessary.

• School Counselor License is essential.

• Must pass the required background check.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems.

• Flexible scheduling is important.

• Willingness to travel as needed.

• A Master's degree in school counseling is preferred.

• Experience with distance learning is beneficial.

• Completion of advanced coursework in counseling and administration is a plus.

• Prior experience as an educator is advantageous.

• Background in customer service is useful.

• Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws and mandated reporting is required.

• Experience in a charter school setting is preferred.

• Knowledge of state career planning systems, such as Pathfinder or other career planning tools, is desirable.

• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during working hours is necessary.

• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
