This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Oversee the SCADA team on a daily basis, offering guidance and prioritization to team members.
• Create and maintain exhibits to standardize SCADA and control requirements for photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.
• Conduct technical due diligence on emerging technologies in energy storage and plant control systems.
• Collaborate with both internal and external teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve SCADA-related issues.
• Support the management of requirements set forth by energy regulatory organizations such as CAISO, FERC, NERC, etc.
• Aid in overseeing site acceptance testing for various projects.
• Assist in managing the deliverables associated with SCADA and plant communications as specified within project interconnection agreements, CAISO New Resource Implementation Process, and more.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of high voltage electrical system operations.
• Communicate with the Operations team and third-party O&M providers to assess real-time plant telemetry and control challenges.
• Collaborate with SCADA vendors and related parties for project-focused SCADA design, implementation, and testing.
• Contribute to the development of turn-key EPC technical documents and support the enforcement of project contracts throughout their duration.
• A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution or equivalent technical training and education.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy SCADA.
• Strong understanding of medium and high voltage electrical systems as they pertain to utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems.
• Experience with control systems and communication infrastructures related to automation.
• Previous knowledge of the operation of hybrid generating assets (i.e., PV + BESS).
• Capability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with colleagues in various situations.
• Ability to work within a project team while also analyzing, troubleshooting, and prioritizing issues independently.
• Robust analytical and quantitative skills.
• Knowledge of safety principles to work safely with equipment.
