SAP TM – Transportation Management Functional Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, configuration, and support of comprehensive Transportation Management processes.

• Configure workflows for freight order management, planning, carrier selection, and execution.

• Supervise freight settlement and charge calculation procedures.

• Enhance transportation cost visibility and analytical capabilities.

• Manage enhancements and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Ensure seamless integration between Transportation Management and Financial Accounting modules.

• Set up freight settlement documents and processes for invoice verification.

• Support the automatic posting of freight costs within SAP and through interfaces to government financial systems.

• Guarantee accurate revenue and cost recognition in accordance with financial standards.

• Configure general ledger account determination and cost posting logic.

• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams for freight invoice reconciliation.

• Work alongside S/4HANA, TM, FI, MM, SD, and EWM teams.

• Partner with interface teams to ensure precise data exchange with government financial systems.

• Convert business requirements into technical solutions and functional designs.

• Support end-to-end order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.

• Analyze freight cost distribution and settlement workflows.

• Drive timely project delivery through effective planning and execution.

• Provide analytical problem-solving to enhance transportation operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• An active DoD Secret clearance is required.

• Over 5 years of practical experience in SAP Transportation Management (TM).

• Strong expertise in freight settlement, cost distribution, and charge calculation.

• Hands-on configuration experience in both TM and Financial Accounting (FI) modules.

• In-depth understanding of integration points between TM, FI, SD, and MM.

• Experience with freight cost calculation and settlement documents.

• Familiarity with invoice verification processes.

• Knowledge of general ledger account determination and cost postings.

• Experience in end-to-end order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Solid business process knowledge in logistics and transportation operations.

• Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule.

• Preferred: experience with embedded TM in SAP S/4HANA.

• Preferred: experience in intercompany freight billing scenarios.

• Preferred: understanding of revenue recognition impacts related to freight charges.

• Preferred: familiarity with EDI/API integrations with carriers and third-party logistics providers.

• Preferred: experience in a federal government or public sector environment.

• Preferred: background in global transportation and international logistics.

• Preferred: DoD IAT Level I Baseline Certification.

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or equivalent experience.

• Preferred: SAP certification in Transportation Management (TM) or Financial Accounting (FI).
