SAP Technical Development Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish development standards and best practices for the Software Development Life Cycle, ensuring compliance through code reviews.

• Evaluate and provide recommendations for technical designs to enhance performance and sustainability.

• Supervise the design, development, integration, testing, implementation, and maintenance of SAP solutions.

• Offer technical guidance to a team of SAP developers, including mentorship and performance evaluations.

• Oversee development tasks according to specifications and project plans, ensuring compliance with requirements, implementation, testing, and integration.

• Guarantee high availability, scalability, and reliability of software solutions.

• Collaborate closely with Solution Architect(s) to create a robust and scalable technical architecture.

• Lead the continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

• Engage in customer collaboration efforts aligned with product objectives.

• Conduct error analysis and resolution, as well as modify or adapt existing designs.

• Contribute to the creation of new systems or subsystems.

• Provide the necessary technical oversight and leadership to accomplish project objectives.

• Participate in project reviews and develop project reporting, planning, issue resolution, and risk mitigation activities.

• Create and manage technical project schedules, including task planning, resource allocation, and tracking progress across technical teams.

• Prepare progress reports for internal leadership and customers while monitoring project progress.

• Mitigate risks, address issues, interact with customers, and keep leadership updated on project status.

• Develop estimates and program schedules for various solution alternatives.

• Author white papers, root cause analyses, and other solution-related documentation as necessary.

• Promote a collaborative environment with a focus on team learning and development.

• Mentor and guide team members in preparing deliverables and resolving project issues.

• Provide support to management and perform assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (no dual status).

• Possess an active secret security clearance or be eligible for clearance.

• 15+ years of experience in SAP application development, demonstrating progressive advancement from developer to leadership roles.

• 7+ years of direct (hands-on) experience in SAP projects, including modules such as EWM, FI, TM, MM, etc.

• Minimum of 2 full SAP life cycle development implementations.

• 3+ years of experience with Agile development processes.

• Current or previous experience with DoW (e.g., AESIP, LMP, GCSS, GFEBs, etc.) is preferred.

• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
