SAP Basis Migration Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Conduct readiness assessments for SAP S/4HANA, including CVI and SDM/SDNI processes.

• Implement custom code adjustments and validate compatibility.

• Utilize knowledge of ECC-to-S/4HANA architecture and in-memory computing.

• Collaborate with RISE with SAP architectural frameworks, ECS operational procedures, and governance for Cloud Managed Services.

• Execute DMO with SUM for migrations and transitions to HANA and Cloud.

• Carry out OS/DB heterogeneous migrations, system copies, and refresh landscapes.

• Manage end-to-end kernel upgrades and distribute files among instances.

• Oversee patching, hotfixes, permissions, ownership, and sticky-bit configurations.

• Navigate the entire SUM lifecycle, including downtime management and shadow instances.

• Conduct SPDD and SPAU modifications.

• Diagnose incomplete transports, open updates, phase failures, and upgrade challenges.

• Enhance migration cycle efficiency by optimizing downtime.

• Install and uphold SAP add-ons via SPAM.

• Administer PBS and TOC transport management tasks.

• Analyze work processes using SM50, SM66, dpmon, and other operating-system tools.

• Execute trace and debugging operations at the work-process level.

• Conduct lock analysis with SM12 and resolve performance-related issues.

• Supervise system recovery processes involving open updates and downtime.

• Manage ABAP and Java stacks, dual-stack dependencies, startup sequences, schema users, and UME.

• Oversee database connectivity using R3trans, DBACOCKPIT, and HANA Studio.

• Troubleshoot system startup and database complications.

• Develop and sustain Shell and Python automation scripts.

• Establish repeatable processes to minimize manual intervention.

• Serve as the final L3 escalation point for intricate incidents.

• Conduct root cause investigations and manage system recovery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Start Date: Immediate.

• Strong practical, hands-on experience in SAP migrations to S/4HANA and upgrades.

• Up to 12 years of SAP Basis experience or an equivalent career level.

• Advanced or fluent English for effective global communication and incident resolution.

• Fully hands-on profile focused on the technical execution of migrations.

• Practical experience with SAP S/4HANA migrations and upgrades.

• Familiarity with readiness checks, CVI, SDM/SDNI, custom code adaptation, and compatibility validation.

• Understanding of the architectural differences between ECC and S/4HANA and in-memory computing.

• Experience with RISE with SAP architectural models, ECS operational procedures, and governance for Cloud Managed Services.

• Proficiency in DMO with SUM, HANA and Cloud migrations, OS/DB heterogeneous migrations, system copies, and landscape refreshes.

• Knowledge of kernel upgrades, patching, hotfixes, and kernel file management.

• Comprehensive experience across the full SUM lifecycle, including SPDD and SPAU adjustments and troubleshooting upgrade issues.

• Experience in installing and maintaining SAP add-ons through SPAM.

• Knowledge of PBS and TOC transport management.

• Experience in SAP system administration, work process analysis, trace/debug activities, lock analysis, system recovery, and performance troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with ABAP and Java stacks, dual-stack dependencies, UME, R3trans, DBACOCKPIT, and HANA Studio.

• Ability to develop and maintain Shell and Python automation scripts.

• Experience in managing complex L3 incidents, root cause analysis, and system recovery.
