Sales Manager, APAC – Commercial Data Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Lead the delivery of Aireon's ADS-B data services to prospective clients, effectively navigating qualified Commercial Data Services (CDS) opportunities through the sales pipeline.

• Proactively seek and cultivate new CDS leads to ensure a steady stream of active opportunities that align with the company's goals.

• Regularly assess and present the performance of opportunities and accounts through key metrics.

• Identify chances to extend new data services to current clients.

• Actively pursue opportunities to develop case studies and marketing materials from closed deals, showcasing Aireon's services and promoting further market growth.

• Establish and sustain robust, long-term relationships with key prospects and industry contacts throughout the APAC region.

• Serve as the primary liaison for top-tier accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction through prompt, knowledgeable communication and proactive problem-solving.

• Negotiate contracts, formulate and manage client-specific pricing strategies, and drive renewals to enhance profitability.

• Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive understanding of key client contracts and related commercial agreements.

• Retain an in-depth knowledge of Aireon's ADS-B technology, data services, and applications.

• Provide technical insights to clients, effectively bridging the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, engineering, operations, legal, and sales ops) to deliver holistic solutions to new key customer accounts.

• Stay informed about new product developments—including timelines for new releases and the specifics of new service offerings—and link this knowledge to new sales opportunities.

• Partner with the CDS Sales Director and BD Lead to identify and prioritize target markets, customer segments, and industries for ADS-B data sales across the APAC region.

• Monitor emerging trends, competitor activities, regulatory changes, and global aviation developments, ensuring feedback is communicated to the product team to maintain Aireon's competitive advantage.

• Work with Product, Sales Ops, and Marketing teams to shape offerings and associated materials to satisfy customer needs and broader industry expectations.

• Advocate for CDS products and services both internally and externally, fostering a culture of open innovation and collaboration within the sales team.

• Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events across the APAC region and beyond, enhancing visibility, expanding our network, and generating leads.

• Contribute to the creation and development of industry white papers, presentations, and webinars to demonstrate the company's expertise in ADS-B data applications.

• Identify and pursue relevant industry memberships and partnerships to elevate Aireon's profile and growth.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in technology or data services sales within the aviation sector, particularly focusing on the APAC region.

• A proven history of effectively executing sales campaigns and closing deals.

• Demonstrated experience in nurturing deep and trusted relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.

• Established network of pertinent contacts across the APAC aviation landscape.

• Background in the aviation industry (Airlines, Airports, ANSPs, or Aviation Technology).

• Willingness to travel within the region up to 50% of the time.

• Extensive knowledge of flight tracking technologies, aviation surveillance systems, and ADS-B applications.

• Familiarity with the regulatory and procurement landscape across various APAC aviation markets.

• Experience with data-driven business models and understanding the commercial value of data services.

• Knowledge of procurement processes within the aviation market.

• Proficient in Salesforce CRM or equivalent platforms.

• Fluency in one or more regional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Bahasa) is a plus.
