Sales and Merchandising Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.

📋 Description

• Promoting new items and conversions to members, ensuring optimal shelf placement of all products within the AWG Center Store portfolio, with a focus on AWG Brands and HGS items.

• Implementing category shelf tasks according to planogram specifications.

• Supporting new store tagging and resets as required.

• Carrying out designated monthly focus objectives assigned by the Center Store team, which includes the entire portfolio of new items, conversions, filling distribution gaps, selling promotional opportunities, pallets, shippers, and more.

• Collaborating with brokers and vendors to achieve goals related to store resets, new store openings, remodels, and new equipment and shelving projects.

• Advising on category layouts and shelf allocations with an emphasis on AWG Brands and HGS, while providing insights and key recommendations to optimize the placement of AWG Brands, HGS items, and other essential center store products within planograms as customers make assortment and planogram choices.

• Recommending products, product lines, and promotional strategies, while analyzing slow-moving items to boost orders.

• Accountable for sales performance within the designated territory.

• Assisting in the training of members on all AWG Center Store retail programs, highlighting AWG Brands and HGS.

• Offering additional merchandising concepts and support opportunities (e.g., end cap programs, supplemental advertisements, digital coupons, demo programs) within the Center Store portfolio.

• Timely completion of required territory reporting as mandated by the Center Store Sales Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred / High School diploma required.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Grocery Industry.

• Background in Marketing or Sales.

• Team-oriented mindset.

• Excellent customer service abilities.

• Strong skills in merchandising.

• Proficient in using tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, power drills, saws, etc.

• Valid driver's license required—daily travel and overnight stays necessary.

• Capable of lifting 40 lbs. or more, with the ability to bend, stand, and sit for extended periods.
