This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Developing a professional network for the company that includes architects, decision-makers within retail businesses, interior designers, and other stakeholders involved in design project management, aimed at generating new leads and enhancing existing accounts into key accounts.
• Targeting companies with a commitment to sustainability and engaging in projects that incorporate sustainable elements, which can be transformed into qualified leads and sales.
• Identifying opportunities for the company to be specified in design and construction projects; locating relevant tenders, large one-off projects, and rollout programs.
• Arranging meetings with pertinent contacts in prospective organizations.
• Negotiating and finalizing business agreements; Sales and Business Development Managers are tasked with negotiating contract terms and finalizing deals within parameters set by senior management. This includes preparing proposals and responses to RFI/RFPs, presenting offers to clients, and negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions to secure new business opportunities.
• Collaborating with product development and partnerships teams on customized orders and joint projects, such as those involving architects, designers, furniture manufacturers, and shopfitters.
• Working closely with the Sales and Marketing team to analyze and segment the market geographically and by client type, and agreeing on sales, pricing, and discounting strategies with the Sales Team.
• Representing the company's brand and pro-social values, positioning its products as premium materials that visibly demonstrate clients' commitment to the circular economy. Accurately communicating product features and benefits to prospects and clients.
• Keeping abreast of industry trends by analyzing reports, participating in exhibitions and conferences, and gathering valuable insights for enhancing the sales process, product offerings, pricing, and other critical commercial information.
• Nurturing and managing relationships with existing clients, with an emphasis on influential and large clients, such as suppliers to national/international retail, hospitality, and commercial real estate development groups.
• Experience working with architects, interior designers, store designers, CMF managers, purchase managers, estimators, and others relevant to the surface and furniture materials markets.
• Knowledge of design project stages, the tendering process for selling surface materials, and a clear understanding of how organizations in target market segments operate, including their structure and team configurations.
• Over 3 years of sales experience with a proven record of achieving and increasing sales, ideally with experience in expanding into new markets.
• A proactive, commercially-minded individual with a strong focus on KPIs and targets.
• Practical experience with various sales techniques, including LinkedIn outreach, video conferencing, and in-person meetings.
• Ability to manage personal time and activities while consulting with senior management.
• Familiarity with CRM and office productivity software.
• Excellent negotiation skills along with clear and professional communication abilities.
• Capability to work effectively with a diverse international team.
• Proficient in English and German.
