Safety Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist in the administration and upkeep of the company’s Safety Management System.

• Help with the evaluation, modification, and dissemination of SMS-related manuals, policies, procedures, and guidance materials.

• Perform initial assessments of reported incidents and hazards to determine severity, likelihood, and necessary escalation.

• Gather and arrange statements, records, and supporting documentation during investigative processes.

• Collect, verify, and analyze safety-related data from reports, audits, and training documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aviation, safety, occupational safety, or a similar field; or equivalent pertinent aviation experience.

• At least 2 years of experience in aviation safety, flight operations, maintenance operations, compliance, quality assurance, or a comparable operational discipline.

• Proficient understanding of Safety Management System principles and risk management methodologies.

• Knowledge of business aviation operations and environments operating under Part 91, Part 91K, and/or Part 135, as applicable.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety data/reporting systems.
