Ruby on Rails Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Conduct a technical audit of the existing backend.

• Assume ownership of the backend platform.

• Design and implement new backend features.

• Participate in architectural decision-making alongside the CTO/Tech Lead.

• Optimize system performance.

• Ensure the reliability of financial operations.

• Develop and maintain APIs for frontend and partners.

• Lead and grow the backend team.

• Implement engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure scalability and resilience.

• Work with QA and participate in preparing builds for certification.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend development, with at least 2 years in a Lead/Senior role.

• Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails.

• Experience working with high-load systems.

• Understanding of REST API principles, event-driven architecture, and microservices.

• Experience with databases: PostgreSQL, Redis.

• Understanding of consistency and transaction principles.

• Experience implementing idempotent operations and retry logic.

• Experience working with queues (Sidekiq, Kafka, or similar).

• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.

• Ability to read, analyze, and refactor code written by others.

• Experience with code reviews and technical leadership.

• Proficiency in English at a level suitable for reading documentation and communication.
