This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team tasked with ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of royalties data within Cengage's systems.

• Evaluate and authorize new agreements and modifications in the royalty framework and related platforms.

• Manage and allocate incoming requests for data updates across the team.

• Define, document, and communicate the processes involved in establishing deals and providing ongoing support.

• Engage in testing the royalty system for enhancements, upgrades, and adjustments.

• Lead a team of data specialists: mentor, train, and develop personnel; offer input, growth opportunities, feedback, coaching, and training.

• Work collaboratively with partners, including the financial planning and analysis team, to ensure their needs are integrated into the data setup and maintenance processes, and assist with data visualization.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Cengage Learning’s products, processes, systems/tools, and team members.

• Establish and manage data quality metrics, controls, dashboards, and remediation processes.

• Ensure adherence to internal and external controls, audit requirements, and financial governance concerning royalties.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in a royalty-related role.

• At least 3 years of management experience or equivalent demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, coaching, and training staff.

• A collaborative problem-solving approach to inspire change through influence.

• Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service; proven track record of taking ownership of issues and seeing them through to resolution.

• Demonstrated experience in initiating, leading, and overseeing operational improvement projects.

• Proactive problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with a strong emphasis on accuracy.

• Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.

• Experience in reading and understanding contracts, preferably using AI (Preferred).

• Familiarity with royalty software, ERP systems, and reporting tools (Power BI, Snowflake) (Preferred).
