RMF Cybersecurity ISSO/SME 3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee one or multiple information systems through the complete six-step RMF lifecycle, which includes assessment, authorization, and ongoing monitoring activities.

• Act as an RMF Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing guidance to stakeholders regarding cybersecurity compliance, risk posture, and ATO readiness.

• Create, evaluate, and sustain RMF packages and related documentation, such as Security Plans, POA&Ms, Risk Assessment Reports, and security control policies.

• Evaluate system compliance with NIST SP 800-53 controls and DHA RMF requirements during self-assessments and annual reviews.

• Record and preserve evidence that supports control implementation and compliance.

• Lead and engage in A&A and stakeholder meetings to monitor system status, address issues, and advance RMF objectives.

• Collaborate with engineers and system owners to produce architecture diagrams, system asset inventories, and security policies.

• Prepare and present status reports to DHA leadership regarding system authorization and compliance initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.

• A Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field with over 6 years of experience; or 14+ years of relevant cybersecurity/IT experience in place of a degree.

• Certification compliant with DoD Manual 8140.03 (previously 8570.01) such as Security+, CISSP, or CASP+/SecurityX.

• Proven experience executing RMF activities in roles such as ISSO/ISSM/SME, including support for the ATO process and development of RMF packages (Security Plans, POA&Ms, architecture diagrams, system security policies, etc.).

• Demonstrated experience in assessing and documenting NIST SP 800-53 controls.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
