This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take ownership and enhance margin calculations across all supported modes, including Isolated, Cross, and Portfolio Margin.
• Create and fine-tune risk parameters (maintenance margin, initial margin, and haircut models) to ensure the exchange remains resilient against extreme market fluctuations.
• Execute stress testing and back-testing on margin models to confirm their reliability during "black swan" events.
• Conduct post-mortem analyses on trader liquidations to uncover patterns of failure.
• Examine instances of negative equity (socialized losses/ADL) to ascertain the reasons for inadequate margin and propose changes to the insurance fund or liquidation engine logic.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop real-time Risk Dashboards that track the overall health of the exchange, leverage ratios, and margin usage.
• Convert intricate risk requirements into technical specifications for creating automated risk-mitigation tools.
• Work alongside the Customer Experience (CX) team to explore trader complaints related to high slippage or liquidity issues.
• Evaluate order book depth and execution quality to gain insights into how liquidity gaps lead to liquidation cascades.
• Experience: 3–5 years in Risk Management, Quantitative Analysis, or Operations within a Crypto Exchange, FinTech, or Traditional Derivatives Clearinghouse (CCP).
• Deep Domain Knowledge: Profound understanding of perpetual swaps, futures, and the mechanics of auto-deleveraging (ADL).
• Technical Proficiency: Competence in SQL for data extraction and Python/R for quantitative modeling. Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Grafana, or Looker) is advantageous.
• Problem Solving: Possess a "detective" mindset—you take pleasure in investigating trade logs to determine the reasons behind liquidation failures.
• Communication: Capable of articulating complex margin mechanics to non-technical stakeholders and customers.
