Director, Payment Risk Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and take ownership of Maxio Payments' risk strategy and policy framework.

• Manage the entire risk function, including underwriting, transaction monitoring, dispute and fraud management, and compliance.

• Oversee credit and risk decision-making throughout the merchant lifecycle.

• Set standards for identifying credit, fraud, and compliance risks.

• Ensure adherence to card brand regulations and act as Maxio's primary point of contact for partners.

• Develop and implement tools, automation, reporting, and playbooks.

• Lead, mentor, and expand the team.

• Collaborate with other departments to promote responsible business growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in payments, risk management, or financial services operations.

• Proven experience in leading risk or payment operations teams.

• In-depth knowledge of underwriting, credit risk, fraud prevention, and transaction monitoring.

• Familiarity with card brand regulations, sponsor bank guidelines, NACHA, and payment processing systems.

• Strong analytical capabilities; proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and reporting tools.
