Risk & Issue Manager – Federal Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and uphold the program's Risk, Issue, Assumption, and Dependency (RAID) log throughout the entirety of the project lifecycle.

• Identify, evaluate, prioritize, and monitor program risks while formulating mitigation and contingency strategies.

• Track program issues and coordinate resolutions with project managers, technical leads, and stakeholders.

• Organize regular RAID review meetings and deliver status updates to program leadership.

• Monitor interdepartmental dependencies and ensure that any impacts on schedule, scope, or budget are recognized early on.

• Create executive dashboards, risk summaries, and governance reports to support customer and leadership reviews.

• Work alongside project teams to proactively identify potential risks and opportunities for ongoing improvement.

• Maintain documentation that supports governance activities, readiness assessments, and customer reporting obligations.

• Suggest enhancements to project governance processes that fortify risk management and program execution.

• Assist Program Management Office (PMO) activities as required to ensure successful project outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Five (5) years of experience in supporting project management, risk management, or enterprise technology initiatives.

• Proven experience in managing project risks, issues, and dependencies within intricate IT environments.

• Strong analytical, organizational, facilitation, and communication capabilities.

• Experience in developing executive reports, dashboards, and governance documentation.

• Preferred experience in supporting VA, VHA, DHA, or other Federal healthcare organizations, health IT, telehealth, or Federal program management.

• PMI-RMP, PMP, or a similar project management certification is preferred.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Level 3 Public Trust clearance.
