This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Maintain a thorough understanding of offline risk factors such as human trafficking, organized crime, and other issues within the client's operational environment.

• Leverage internal data, OSINT, and third-party intelligence to identify undiscovered instances of abuse and offline risks.

• Extract actionable insights from extensive datasets to formulate new strategies for preventing or mitigating criminal activities.

• Present findings to management and product teams to improve decision-making processes.

• Collaborate closely with trust product and engineering teams to execute strategies and products aimed at reducing emerging safety risks.

• Lead and support complex investigations involving large datasets and various stakeholders.

• Participate in project ideation and definition, working on collaborative initiatives with global partners to tackle offline risk issues.

• Develop investigative frameworks and methodologies that can be integrated into existing trust practices.

• Assist in creating new enforcement policies designed to mitigate emerging threats.

• Continuously monitor known risk trends during both onboarding and post-onboarding phases, suggesting improvements to minimize safety risks.

• Help refine automated monitoring and alert systems to detect anomalies in customer behavior and enhance risk-rule efficiency.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of investigative experience, ideally with a major technology or travel organization.

• Subject matter expertise in organized crime, such as human trafficking and drug trafficking, is a plus.

• Experience in monitoring and mitigating offline safety risks is advantageous.

• Capability to conduct deep-dive, specialized investigations and analyze both technical and behavioral signals.

• Intermediate SQL proficiency; clear understanding of SQL and the ability to edit and write simple to semi-complex queries.

• Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques, utilizing data insights for risk management decisions.

• Previous experience in trust & safety, fraud detection, or risk management within a user-focused platform.

• Understanding of the criminal applications of technology is preferred.

• Experience in creating and delivering comprehensive intelligence reports on geopolitical, cyber, and violent actor behaviors and their effects on product exposure.

• Proven track record of analyzing and addressing high-impact threats and threat actors.

• Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and statistical methods to solve real-world challenges using extensive data.

• Experience managing projects with organization-wide implications and working with cross-functional stakeholders across various locations and time zones.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data and insights to diverse audiences.

• Strong team player, capable of working closely with your team to ensure the program thrives beyond individual contributions.

• For US candidates: must be located in PST or MST and willing to work until 5:30 PM PST.

• Occasionally required to work holidays, weekends, or evenings during high-profile or emergency situations.

• Early morning or late evening calls may be necessary to coordinate with global teams.
