This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
⢠Conducts on-site risk control assessments for highly sophisticated current and potential policyholdersā operations, including those in niche markets.
⢠Evaluates and analyzes exposure potential along with existing controls, preparing risk control reports based on findings and conveying results to the insured and agents.
⢠Offers consultations to policyholders regarding their operations, claims trends, and suggestions for enhancements related to insured coverages, including crafting written recommendations to manage hazards and mitigate exposure to insured losses.
⢠Engages with policyholders to comprehend their service needs and concerns, tailoring consultative services to address loss drivers and exposures that align with the insuredās requirements, as well as other recognized areas of need.
⢠Acts as a primary technical resource within the designated specialized focus area, offering technical expertise and guidance to fellow Risk Control team members.
⢠Collaborates with other Risk Control team members and subject matter experts to address advanced technical inquiries as required.
⢠Provides updates to other departments like Underwriting, Sales, and Claims to enhance renewal decision-making, including sharing unique observations with underwriting to assist in account-related decisions.
⢠Promotes risk control functions in collaboration with the branch team through agency visits, presentations at agency and association meetings, and more.
⢠Delivers comprehensive explanations of business operations, hazards, and controls related to coverages.
⢠Conducts advanced training and on-site loss control evaluations for both current and prospective accounts.
⢠Identifies accounts that would benefit from ongoing, routine service or targeted short-term service.
⢠Analyzes historical losses and current exposures for large, complex accounts, applying specialized knowledge to formulate appropriate service plans.
⢠Delivers comprehensive, customized services such as hazard control assessments, ergonomic evaluations, or slip-and-fall surveys to address loss drivers and exposures, while fulfilling insuredsā needs and documenting findings in a service report.
⢠Establishes positive relationships with accounts and agents.
⢠Bachelorās degree, ideally in safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire protection, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
⢠A minimum of five years in a risk control or safety role, or related experience.
⢠Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional are preferred.
⢠Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
⢠Extensive knowledge of industrial, construction, fire, and commercial automotive safety.
⢠Good understanding of various nationally recognized standards and codes, including OSHA, DOT, and NFPA.
⢠Strong capability to comprehend and assess risk.
⢠Ability to identify and visualize potential loss exposures effectively.
⢠Excellent problem-solving abilities.
⢠Strong customer service skills.
⢠Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, as well as independently.
⢠Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
⢠Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation proficiency.
⢠Travel is necessary; a valid driverās license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards is required if driving.
