This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Conducts on-site assessments for complex and niche-market policyholders, identifying risks and formulating tailored strategies to minimize insured losses.

• Offers expert consultation across various coverage lines, works collaboratively with internal teams to support underwriting decisions, and provides advanced training and mentorship to colleagues.

• Completes on-site risk control evaluations of sophisticated existing and potential policyholders' operations, particularly in niche sectors.

• Evaluates and analyzes exposure potential, existing controls, and prepares risk control reports based on findings, communicating results to insured parties and agents.

• Advises policyholders on their operations, claims trends, and improvement recommendations concerning insured coverages, including drafting written suggestions for hazard control and reducing exposure to insured losses.

• Acts as a primary technical resource within the designated specialized area and offers technical expertise and support to other Risk Control team members.

• Collaborates with fellow Risk Control team members and subject matter experts on advanced technical inquiries as required.

• Provides updates to other departments such as Underwriting, Sales, and Claims to enhance renewal decision-making, including relaying unique observations to underwriting to assist in account decision-making.

• Promotes risk control functions in conjunction with the branch team through agency visits, presentations at agency and association meetings, etc.

• Conducts advanced training and on-site loss control evaluations for current and prospective clients.

• Identifies accounts that would benefit from ongoing, regular service, and/or targeted short-term assistance.

• Analyzes historical losses and current risks for large complex accounts, applying specialized knowledge to create suitable service plans.

• Delivers comprehensive, customized services, such as hazard control assessments, ergonomic evaluations, or slip-and-fall surveys, to address loss drivers and exposures while fulfilling insured needs, documented in a service report.

• Cultivates positive relationships with accounts and agents.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a field related to safety, engineering, industrial safety, or fire protection, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Five years of experience in a risk control or safety role, or related experience.

• Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional are preferred.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong understanding of industrial, construction, fire, and commercial automotive safety.

• Familiarity with various nationally recognized standards and codes, including OSHA, DOT, and NFPA.

• Strong ability to comprehend and assess risk.

• Good capability to identify and visualize potential loss exposures.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Capability to work effectively with others as well as independently.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.

• Good verbal and written communication skills, including documentation proficiency.

• Travel is required; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards is necessary for driving purposes.
