This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Report directly to the Boiler and Machinery Field Manager.
• Carry out inspections of boilers and pressure vessels in accordance with jurisdictional regulations.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, identify hazardous situations, apply relevant codes and standards, and suggest corrective measures.
• Collaborate with Boiler and Machinery underwriting and claims teams to facilitate informed decision-making, profitability, and growth.
• Maintain a field presence, dedicating approximately 20%–50% of time onsite with clients.
• Oversee the jurisdictional inspection workload within a designated territory.
• Organize, plan, and schedule tasks using the provided technological resources.
• Address customer inquiries and assist them in understanding and mitigating risks associated with equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct less complex risk assessments, evaluate exposures and controls, create loss estimates, and communicate results.
• Assess the adequacy of controls and overall insurability.
• Investigate simpler Equipment Breakdown claims.
• Analyze breakdown factors, extent of damage, invoices, and causes of loss.
• Record, communicate, and report findings effectively.
• Engage in training opportunities and execute other assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• A minimum of two years of experience in the boiler and machinery sector or a related field, including plant engineering, power generation, manufacturing operations, maintenance, or pertinent military experience.
• Fundamental understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
• Basic knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Engineering and technical competencies to fulfill business objectives.
• Proficiency in using Risk Control workstation computer system applications.
• National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector’s Inservice commission.
• Military Boiler or Nuclear Power operator certification.
• Civilian Power Boiler Operation Certificate.
• ANSI NDE Level II Examiner Certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must secure an Inservice Commission (IS) from the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors within six months of employment.
• Must possess or be able to acquire necessary certification to comply with state-specific requirements, where applicable.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong customer service, problem-solving, communication, and relationship management skills.
