This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Attains annual new revenue targets through consultative sales to new clients and the enhancement of service offerings to existing clients.
• Demonstrates thought leadership and industry involvement via associations, speaking engagements, and showcases expertise in selected industry verticals.
• Creates an annual individual sales plan (ISP) that aligns with a pipeline coverage ratio of 5X or conforms to the current company metrics to ensure consistent achievement of goals.
• Establishes a robust pipeline of qualified prospects, generating leads through personal connections, client referrals, prospect pursuit campaigns (PPCs), other Relation colleagues, and Relation marketing channels.
• Records new business activities in the designated systems.
• Effectively closes new business opportunities, documenting won/loss scenarios and reasons for all clients in the existing system.
• Develops and presents client recommendations based on a consultative selling methodology.
• Evaluates and identifies risk issues, needs, and potential uninsurable or challenging exposures for clients.
• Advises and assists clients with technical services, such as loss control and claims advocacy programs, utilizing our in-house teams.
• Smoothly transitions sold clients to the assigned client service/account management team.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to clients, fostering strategic and personal relationships with key decision-makers.
• Engages with leadership, providing field insights on market trends, competitor analysis, and other business intelligence.
• A Life and Health License from the state of domicile is essential and must be maintained.
• At least 2+ years of sales experience in the insurance sector with an emphasis on Employee Benefits coverage is necessary.
• A college degree is preferred, with priority given to candidates with experience in Risk Management.
• Strong networking abilities and a strategic approach to relationship building, including the use of Centers of Influence (COI).
• Exceptional PowerPoint and presentation skills for both in-person and virtual sessions.
• Comprehensive understanding of complex employee benefits coverage lines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to foster effective relationships with clients, colleagues, underwriters, vendors, and others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Must be computer literate and capable of learning new software applications.
• Strong working knowledge of insurance markets, products, and applications, along with insurance rating and underwriting processes.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, have the ability to travel to client locations, and have a reliable means of transportation.
• Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
