This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Identify, investigate, and secure necessary permits for utility, transmission, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with municipalities, counties, the Department of Transportation, railroads, and other organizations to monitor and obtain permit approvals.
• Analyze and review engineering plans, survey documents, and route maps to ascertain permit requirements.
• Ensure adherence to permit criteria, including but not limited to insurance, bonds, and safety regulations.
• Prepare and submit permit applications, along with supporting documentation and reports.
• Monitor permit status and maintain precise records within project systems (SharePoint/Project Databases).
• Work alongside Land Agents, Project Managers, and contractors to synchronize permitting with right-of-way acquisition and construction timelines.
• Act as the primary contact for agencies and stakeholders concerning permit status, requirements, and compliance.
• Assist in project risk management by proactively identifying potential permitting delays and proposing solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
• Over 3 years of experience in right-of-way, utility, or permitting positions.
• Proficiency in interpreting survey, engineering, or construction drawings.
• Previous experience interacting with municipal, county, railroad, or Department of Transportation permitting agencies.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple permits concurrently.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong research and documentation capabilities; ability to analyze requirements across various jurisdictions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with GIS/property research tools.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional project teams.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as necessary.
