This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Serve as the main point of contact between key client representatives and the Veterans Administration.
• Assess and analyze VA claim payments utilizing proprietary software, systems, and tools.
• Evaluate payer payment documentation to ensure reimbursement aligns with relevant state fee schedules.
• Investigate, request, and obtain medical records along with necessary supporting documentation.
• Submit essential documentation with hospital claims to either the Veterans Administration or TriWest.
• Conduct follow-up calls with payers to verify the receipt of claims and assist in reimbursement processes.
• Prepare initial bill packets or appeal letters for the VA and submit the required documentation to insurers.
• Manage patient health information while ensuring the privacy and security of confidential and proprietary data.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• 2–4+ years of experience in healthcare billing or collections is required.
• At least 2 years of client-facing or customer service experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in VA billing and collections is necessary.
• Intermediate knowledge of insurance payer/provider claims processing and data requirements.
• Intermediate understanding of government and veteran benefit programs.
• Strong proficiency in computer usage.
• Basic proficiency in office applications, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be taken into account.
• Must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to achieve or surpass productivity goals and targets.
• Capability to maintain consistent performance under pressure and manage stress effectively.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently without direct supervision.
• Proven skills in written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated experience working with external clients, along with excellent customer service skills and business acumen.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing priorities and projects.
• Capacity to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
