This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Accountable for the recovery of outstanding balances from both commercial insurance and self-pay clients.
• Actively enhancing revenue cycle processes.
• Oversee client business accounts, policy applications, and collection efforts.
• Work an eight-hour shift across five days a week, with availability for additional hours when necessary.
• Overtime may be required.
• Oversee all credit and collection activities related to client accounts.
• Ensure the accuracy of the accounts receivable ledger, including continuous monitoring of aged receivables.
• Stay updated on revenue components such as benefit plans, contract terms, rates, and billing forms and codes.
• Verify the status of claims using telephone, websites, and other available resources.
• Record necessary adjustments for client accounts.
• Identify and suggest adjustments needed for client accounts.
• Engage in collection activities and follow up on balances that deviate from established norms.
• Coordinate collection efforts with external agencies, including court appearances when necessary.
• Ensure consistency in the application of credit policies throughout the revenue cycle—from admission to final account resolution.
• Handle cardholder data securely, adhering to encryption, data storage limitations, and security protocols.
• Participate in mandatory Payment Card Industry (PCI) training, access controls, and regular security assessments, all in line with PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) guidelines.
• Provide feedback and education to departments/internal customers regarding issues that affect revenue flow and capture.
• Prepare appropriate documentation and reports that aid in the fiscal management of the agency.
• Be a part of the Revenue Cycle Team and engage in all team meetings and activities.
• Comprehend and adhere to all principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
• Execute all responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and expectations of Rosecrance.
• Consistently deliver exceptional customer service to every client.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• One to two years of experience in healthcare claims processing and collections, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience.
• Proficient in computer use within a Windows environment, with knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
• Sufficient written communication skills to accurately complete required documentation within specified time frames.
• Strong organizational skills are essential.
