• Provide a consistently high level of consultative client service while engaging with clients and partners to address concerns, conduct necessary research, and deliver innovative solutions for your clients.
• Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of retirement plans and the Ascensus business model.
• Mentor and coach others in all areas of retirement planning and client relations, taking into account the needs of both the client and Ascensus to develop suitable solutions.
• Effectively monitor and follow up on assigned tasks, which includes determining necessary actions for resolving client issues, documenting, and implementing solutions as appropriate.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with clients and advisors regarding services, execution, and resolutions throughout the service cycle.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with dedicated clients and financial professionals, providing updates on product and plan initiatives.
• Engage in the management of vendor relationships on behalf of clients and partners.
• Drive client retention by anticipating client needs, suggesting changes or actions in collaboration with the Relationship Manager.
• Meet individual and team goals for service levels, growth, and retention for the assigned book of business.
• Identify and systematically document “opportunity plans” while collaborating with the Relationship Manager to develop a strategy to mitigate risks.
• Implement strategic plans to ensure the retention and satisfaction of clients and financial professionals' books of business.
• Attain service level goals, retention, and organic growth targets set for each financial partner by evaluating opportunities within the assigned book of business.
• Responsible for proactive communication with clients and partners regarding all aspects of service delivery, soliciting and sharing feedback with relevant internal resources.
• Manage daily scheduling for yourself and your team, aligning with client requirements and business needs.
• Utilize industry knowledge across all areas of retirement operations and services.
• Ensure commitments to clients are honored by actively reviewing the status of assigned plans’ periodic activities (compliance testing, 5500, quarterly statements, RMDs, etc.).
• Evaluate client objectives, needs, and behaviors to recommend plan, product, or functionality enhancements for improved outcomes.
• Educate clients on plan features, product capabilities, or Ascensus functionalities and processes.
• Generate ideas for enhancements and provide feedback/solutions to plan sponsors and financial professionals to reduce risk and streamline processes.
• Assist peers and managers by managing escalated items/calls from clients, taking responsibility for oversight and resolution of these escalated matters.
• Mentor team members and provide constructive feedback to the team manager for performance improvement purposes.
• Cultivate and maintain robust internal relationships across departments and locations.
• Act as the subject matter expert on specific topics as necessary, responsible for creating materials, training, and assisting others across departments in these areas.
• Perform additional duties and engage in or lead special projects as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of direct client experience required, with a preference for experience in the Retirement Services industry.
• Certification or progress towards certification (ASPPA, CEBS, etc.) in industry-related studies is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively (clearly, concisely, and professionally) with all levels within the Ascensus organization as well as our client base.
• Strong presentation skills, business etiquette, client service abilities, and time management skills.
• Proven professionalism in all aspects of the role.
• Experience with financial services systems (e.g., recordkeeping, trust, trading) and familiarity with plan recordkeeping and trust reconciliation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel; Access and PowerPoint skills are preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of retirement plans, ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations, and plan documents (both individually designed and prototype).
• Ability to thrive in a team environment focused on achieving the common goal of providing exceptional client service.
