This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye exams and retinal screenings for members at healthcare provider locations and patient residences.
• Utilize company-provided retinal imaging devices.
• Assist in addressing eye exam and related quality discrepancies.
• Complete training on retinal imaging devices and eye exam protocols prior to performing independent exams.
• Maintain proficiency through ongoing training as required.
• Oversee a daily schedule of eye exam appointments.
• Confirm appointments with both practices and patients ahead of time.
• Arrange travel logistics.
• Interact virtually with team members, internal partners, customers, providers, payers, and care teams on non-appointment days.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships with co-workers, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Execute tasks that support quality improvement, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success.
• Willingness and capacity to travel daily, up to 100%, to provider practices for scheduled eye exams.
• Must be a resident of the Birmingham, AL area.
• No previous eye exam or imaging experience necessary; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• An associate degree or higher in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality metrics, medical billing, or coding.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and various healthcare-related systems or applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively with management, colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Certification or licensure as a healthcare professional, such as CMA or LPN, is preferred.
