Retail Construction Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer support to the North American SSP and Construction team, including;

• Oversee project management and organization of retail shop fit-outs, ensuring quality, relevance, and timely execution of new shop constructions, refits and refreshes, closures, and maintenance of existing shop locations.

• Efficiently manage Capex by working on estimates, verifying actual project costs, and updating the Capex forecast.

• Ensure that project schedules are meticulously planned and executed, collaborating effectively with Retailers, SSP, Real Estate leasing, and finance teams.

• Stay updated on industry best practices in global retail construction processes and project support, aligning working practices accordingly.

• Maintain and develop project status and Capex reports.

• Assist the retail team in accurately interpreting construction information that impacts the business.

• Provide hands-on assistance and installation support during new shop openings, refits, refreshes, and closures as needed.

• Continuously improve support for the retail business by assessing needs and offering forward-looking insights.

• Streamline reporting processes to meet the needs of both external and internal stakeholders.

• Offer project-specific assistance to Retailers, all retail store teams, the Shop and Space Planning Team, Property/Leasing, and Finance departments.

• Keep up to date with knowledge in products, design methods, and merchandising for sales, providing practical support while being aware of the details necessary to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales.

• Collaborate with SSP designers to create inspiring projects.

• Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service experiences.

• May undertake additional duties as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in retail construction and project management, with a focus on budget management in the US (specialty stores, shopping malls, and urban streets).

• Proven experience in a project lead role.

• Knowledge of carpentry and millwork is an asset.

• Strong skills in budget analysis and management.

• Experience managing phased construction projects in both newly opened and existing retail stores.

• Practical, hands-on experience in overseeing the design and construction processes.

• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with business partners to accomplish tasks and achieve desired results.

• Capacity to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.

• An appreciation for and understanding of retail design and in-house skill sets.

• Ability to assist with the installation of company furniture, understanding how all components that constitute a retail space are constructed.

• Proficiency in interpreting all M.E.P plans, architectural plans, and structural plans.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Capable of maintaining composure and productivity under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

• Ability to work independently within a collaborative and creative environment.

• A team-oriented individual with strong collaboration skills, working closely with designers to bring projects to fruition, sharing ideas, providing feedback, and ensuring thorough consideration of all areas for efficiency and success.
