Resource Geologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Managing all facets of mineral resource evaluation.

• Conducting audits of data analysis, resource block models, and geometallurgical block models while ensuring quality control.

• Contributing to the development and execution of Machine Learning technology for precise resource estimations.

• Collaborating closely with co-founders, Geologists, and the Lead Metallurgist.

• Assessing clients' existing Kriging models and coordinating with the Business Development team.


⛳️ Requirements

• A tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Science.

• A comprehensive understanding of the composition, structure, and geophysical characteristics of Australia or Canada, aimed at enhancing geoscientific knowledge to advance machine learning capabilities for mining (mineral exploitation).

• Over 20 years of extensive experience in mineral resource evaluation, with a background in both open pit and underground mining environments.

• In-depth knowledge of copper and gold deposit types, ideally including one or more ferrous, phosphate, and critical metal/mineral deposit types in Australia, Canada, or Latin America.

• Familiarity with geometallurgy and mineral resource estimation in relation to orebody/deposit knowledge.

• Detailed knowledge or interest in machine learning and data sciences as applied to the mineral resource sector within the mining industry.

• Proficiency in mineral source modeling software platforms and data analysis tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex geological concepts to diverse audiences.

• Knowledge of mining regulations and reporting standards in Australia (JORC) and Canada (NI43-101).

• Leadership skills to manage a growing team of geoscientists.

• A valid motor vehicle driving license.

• No criminal convictions that would hinder international travel; e.g., ESTA (US) & eTA (Canada).

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

• Capability to work in remote mining sites with significant diversity.

• No restrictions on wearing standard mine PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
