This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Serve as the primary fee earner for a diverse array of residential property transactions, including both freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, equity transfers, new build transactions, shared ownership, and mixed-use matters; oversee cases from initial instruction through to post-completion registration and file closure in line with firm protocols.
β’ Deliver clear, pragmatic, and commercially insightful legal advice to clients, lenders, estate agents, and other involved parties; draft, review, and negotiate contracts, transfer deeds, leases, mortgages, and associated documents utilizing firm precedents and tailored drafting when necessary.
β’ Conduct, interpret, and advise on searches, pre-contract inquiries, title reports, leases, and leasehold management packs; identify and resolve issues related to titles, leaseholds, restrictive covenants, and indemnities, escalating or instructing counsel when appropriate.
β’ Prepare and manage completion packs, client and accountant completion statements; handle client funds and completion monies in accordance with the firm's accounting procedures and regulatory standards.
β’ Ensure precise preparation and submission of Land Registry applications and SDLT returns, liaising with HMRC and the Land Registry as needed, and manage post-completion registration, indemnities, and any necessary remedial actions.
β’ Uphold compliance with regulatory requirements including anti-money laundering checks, client identification, conflict checks, file audits, and data protection; execute and document necessary file reviews, ensuring files meet the firm's compliance criteria.
β’ Provide technical direction and oversight to junior fee earners and support staff; review and approve work, assist with training, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of precedents, templates, and team processes.
β’ Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with demonstrated post-qualification experience in residential property/conveyancing; typically 3β6 yearsβ PQE based on the seniority of the role.
β’ Proven capability to independently manage a diverse caseload and handle complex or high-value transactions, including leasehold and mixed-use issues.
β’ Exceptional drafting, negotiation skills, and attention to detail in preparing contracts, completion statements, and client correspondence.
β’ Strong understanding of Land Registry processes, SDLT, leasehold legislation, and common title issues; confident in addressing indemnities and title rectification as required.
β’ Proficient user of Microsoft Office and experienced with case management and document management systems; capable of learning new systems and enhancing workflows.
β’ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients, lenders, estate agents, managing agents, and third parties; able to manage sensitive issues with tact and discretion.
β’ Organized, commercially aware, and adept at prioritizing competing demands to meet deadlines; strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative team player who can also work independently.
