Residential Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct virtual commercial inspections and plan evaluations in licensed fields (building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical) using video, photographs, or digital submissions.

• Detect flaws, hazards, inconsistencies, or non-compliance issues according to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

• Thoroughly document inspection results utilizing approved reporting systems and communication methods.

• Relay inspection outcomes, necessary corrections, and expert recommendations to key stakeholders.

• Assist and counsel internal teams, contractors, and building owners on code violations and compliance matters.

• Offer technical assistance and support to the inspection team and personnel concerning field-related issues.

• Engage in cross-training with other inspection staff to expand knowledge and enhance overall job performance.

• Stay updated on jurisdictional requirements and the Florida Building Code.

• Execute other related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Active State of Florida Residential Inspector License in one or more of the following areas: Building (BN), Electrical (EN), Mechanical (MN), and/or Plumbing (PN).

• Active International Code Council Certification (ICC) is preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial inspections, construction, and/or plan reviews.

• Strong working knowledge of the Florida Building Code and relevant jurisdictional requirements.

• Experience with virtual or remote inspections is preferred.

• Capability to accurately interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-oriented focus.

• Strong attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to meet inspection turnaround deadlines.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with internal teams.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional remote workspace.
