Research Engineer – Confidential Computing

📋 Description

• Determine the capabilities and limitations of current accelerator attestations.

• Create and implement a registry for attested-result formats, submissions from third-party auditors, and independent verification processes.

• Develop attested logging within an enclave and identify the scope of privacy-preserving audits.

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations while ensuring mutual secrecy, alongside attestation recording of code and model weights.

• Link attestations through various pipelines and assess their robustness under production loads.

• Implement confidential-computing stacks utilizing accelerators from diverse supply chains.

• Integrate hardware attestation with cryptographic methodologies.

• Challenge the attestation chain through red-team exercises.

• Contribute to research publications and collaborate with cryptographers, hardware-security experts, external partners, and policymakers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building solutions with confidential computing or hardware enclaves (SGX, TDX, SEV-SNP, Arm CCA, GPU confidential computing), or a strong foundation in systems security with a readiness to learn.

• Knowledge of attestation chains.

• Capability to deliver integrations across organizational boundaries.

• Ability to excel in ambiguous, early-stage settings.

• Experience in ML inference serving and production deployment is a plus.

• Background in audit, certification, or PKI is advantageous.

• Experience in privacy-preserving computation beyond enclaves is desirable.

• Understanding of the AI evaluations landscape is beneficial.

• Ability to communicate hardware guarantees to non-specialists is a plus.

• Willingness to maintain overlapping working hours with colleagues across different regions.
