This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Support and Analysis: Collaborate with our team to contribute to discussion guides and study design across various listening loops involving different cohorts of young individuals.

• Assist in organizing listening sessions, developing Miro boards, coordinating logistics for interviews and focus groups, taking live notes, and managing follow-ups after sessions.

• Co-facilitate sessions with youth research assistants alongside our team, working together to generate session ideas.

• Perform coding under the guidance of our founder using Atlas.ti, organizing coded materials and identifying representative quotes, patterns, and tensions for interpretive analysis.

• Execute focused literature reviews and compile summaries of pertinent findings.

• Aid in memo production by extracting quotes, highlighting relevant literature, managing citations, and conducting fact-checks.

• Research Operations and Compliance: Oversee IRB documentation and assist with required paperwork as directed, managing consent/assent logistics and tracking participation under team leadership's guidance. Ensure CITI training compliance is tracked and documentation is ready for audits.

• Coordinate recruitment and scheduling for 4-5 research cycles, including In Tandem coordination and non-In Tandem outreach, through to completion and follow-up.

• Oversee our data pipeline to ensure seamless organization of recordings, transcription workflows, transcript accuracy, participant ID tracking, and data retention.

• Maintain our Qualtrics survey instruments, including consent and assent forms, as well as automated workflows.

• Project Management and Infrastructure: Manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently across research cycles, provide proactive status updates, and identify risks early.

• Support external partner meetings and follow-up efforts. Coordinate with consultants as necessary and manage cross-functional handoffs.

• Oversee research tools (Qualtrics, Calendly, Atlas.ti) and document processes as they evolve into workflows.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology, human development, education, sociology, or a related field; master’s or doctoral coursework is a plus.

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in qualitative research, research operations, or applied research in a lab, research institute, or similar environment.

• Experience with IRB or human-subjects research, ideally with support in submissions or ongoing reviews.

• Comfort in co-facilitating qualitative interviews and focus groups with youth, or a strong willingness to develop that skill. You should be warm, attentive, and considerate when engaging young people on personal subjects.

• Comfort working with adolescents on topics that may cover mental health, technology, identity, and other sensitive experiences.

• Training in qualitative research, including experience with interviews, formal listening group sessions, first-pass coding, and identifying relevant literature.

• Practical experience with Qualtrics for creating surveys, consent, and assent forms, as well as automated workflows.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to oversee multiple workstreams from inception to completion.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are clear, concise, and proactive in keeping others informed.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, effectively navigating ambiguity within a small, growing nonprofit.

• A deep, genuine passion for youth voice initiatives and the interaction between adolescents and technology.
