This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist in making decisions regarding research design, including the selection of methods, measures, and study designs suitable for literacy and language assessments.
• Create data collection protocols.
• Gather and prepare data for both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Examine data to evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and interventions.
• Design tables, figures, and data visualizations that effectively communicate findings to both research and practitioner audiences.
• Analyze and synthesize qualitative data obtained from interviews, observations, and documents through systematic coding and analytical techniques.
• Conduct literature reviews, which involve identifying and collecting relevant research.
• Oversee the creation of project plans and timelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs in a timely manner.
• Foster productive working relationships to coordinate collaborative efforts and achieve project objectives.
• Engage with study participants and stakeholders to facilitate fieldwork and sustain project momentum.
• Develop and oversee IRB documentation and approvals as well as data sharing agreements.
• Write and present findings in formats adapted to the needs of research and practitioner audiences, including reports, memos, policy briefs, and presentations.
• Contribute to the formulation of proposals and outreach initiatives that further the objectives of the Literacy Team.
• Familiarity with educational issues in the K-12 literacy landscape.
• A Master’s degree in education, public policy, economics, or a closely related field.
• Proficiency in research software such as Stata, R, SPSS, NVIVO, and Dedoose.
• Understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, with a strong grasp of inferential statistics and data management.
• Additional Preferred Experience: Experience in school-based settings (e.g., teaching, leadership, coaching, curriculum coordination, assessment, or intervention support).
• Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to critically analyze complex problems, decompose them into manageable components, and engage in creative problem-solving to devise practical and efficient solutions.
