This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Participate in the design, execution, and evaluation of experimental and quasi-experimental initiatives.
• Utilize advanced econometric modeling to address intricate issues in development economics and industrial organization.
• Make methodological enhancements to bolster the rigor of the research portfolio.
• Develop automated, reproducible workflows in R and STATA for data preparation, variable creation, and anomaly identification.
• Perform technical audits and diagnostic evaluations on extensive datasets.
• Create structured tracking systems and real-time dashboards using Excel to oversee fieldwork progression and survey quality.
• Produce technical outputs that empower implementation teams to make data-informed modifications during data collection.
• Convert complex statistical results into straightforward, actionable insights.
• Assist in the development of academic papers, policy briefs, and technical reports.
• Present findings to international stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Master’s degree in Economics (either in progress or completed) is highly preferred.
• Advanced skills in R and STATA are essential.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale longitudinal or administrative datasets.
• Proficiency in causal inference, econometric modeling, and impact evaluation.
• Experience in designing and analyzing RCTs and quasi-experimental studies.
• Background in Industrial Organization or Development Economics is advantageous, especially relating to labor markets and Colombian education/vocational systems.
• Familiarity with GEIH and other national information systems is a plus.
• Bilingual in English (C1) and Spanish.
• Capability to transform complex data into high-quality technical documentation and actionable reports.
• A proactive, independent researcher who can collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage intricate workflows within tight deadlines.
• Commitment to methodological integrity and ethical standards, including the responsible use of AI.
• Knowledge of Python and machine learning is a plus.
